Skyward Roofing is a roofing contractor based in Ocala, serving all of Marion County — built around two decades of putting roofs on custom homes right here in the county. We replace, repair and inspect roofs on homes, farms and commercial buildings, and we do it the way the Florida Building Code and the county inspector expect it done — permitted, inspected, and documented so the paperwork holds up with your insurer and the next buyer.
Twenty years of roofs, most of them on houses being built new
Our roofing is run by Shane Campbell, who spent about twenty years building custom homes with Jeff Penuel Building Contractor in Silver Springs and had the roofing side of that business as his responsibility the whole time. For the first six or seven years he was not managing it from a truck — he was on the roof doing the work, running the sales, and handling everything in between. He carried his own Florida roofing contractor licence in 2017 and has held it since.
That matters more than it sounds like it should. A roof on a house under construction gets looked at by a building inspector before anything covers it, and the person who put it on has to stand behind it to a builder who will be back next month with another one. Twenty years of that is a different education than twenty years of tear-offs. It is also why we are comfortable talking about the deck, the framing and the ventilation underneath, rather than only about the part you can see from the driveway.
Shane is a Marion County family man with four kids, working in the county he lives in. If something goes wrong on your roof, he is not hard to find.
Every re-roof is permitted and inspected
Re-roofing is permitted work everywhere in Florida. We pull the permit under our license through Marion County Building Safety or the city building department, the inspector sees the deck and the dry-in before anything is covered, and you get a closed permit at the end. Homeowner-pulled permits and "no permit needed" roofs are the two things we see most often behind a denied claim or a stalled sale.
We look before we price
Every estimate is free and every estimate happens on the roof and in the attic. Deck condition, layers, ventilation, flashing and the permit history of the house all move the number, and none of it is visible from the driveway. You get a written, itemized scope, with deck replacement priced per sheet up front, and it does not move once we start unless you change it.
Repair when repair is right
A leaking pipe boot on a roof with years left is a repair, and we will not talk you into a replacement. A roof your carrier has called end-of-life is a replacement, and we will not sell you a repair that buys eighteen months. We put both options in front of you when both are real, and we tell you which one we would choose on our own house.
Straight with your insurance company
We document storm damage with photos and a written scope, meet the adjuster on site, and do the repair. We do not file or adjust claims, waive deductibles or take assignments of benefits — Florida law prohibits roofing contractors from doing any of it, and it is how homeowners end up with denied claims and a lien on the house.
